Description

This coffee is named, because in the very general sense it follows the typical proportions of 20% Robusta and 80% Arabica found in good Italian bar blends. To ensure complexity, it contains a range of natural, washed and pulped coffees from the origins of India, South America, and Ethiopia, with each bean type roasted separately according to their densities, developed to an Italian roast where a rich dark brown colour is acquired.

In the cup, it is simply rich, full bodied and chocolatey, giving the drinker a sense of creaminess. More specifically, it’s a complex of hazelnuts, vanilla, dark chocolate and toasted bread, with a hint of spice. Indeed, while there is a slight hint of acidity (a quality that can sometimes be confused with bitterness) this acid note has been diminished so it doesn’t overwhelm. Thus, it’s the perfect coffee for espresso (or the Italian Stove top or even the Aeropress) both as a short black and as a base for richly smooth, milky caffe lattes.
