Description
This is the stainless steel version of the original caffetteria (or coffee maker literally in Italian) patented by Alfonso Bialetti in 1933. The benefits of stainless steel are longevity and induction-stove suitability (not applicable for the 2 cup size). Provided that the right type of blend is used and the coffee is aptly ground, the coffee emerges a rich and strong brew, and in our opinion, it is still the best way to have a caffe latte at home in the morning. For a caffe latte, just add two thirds hot milk, and for a long black, replace the milk with hot water. They are available in a variety of sizes upwards of 2 cups and each model comes with a heat resistant handle and a flip top lid that can be left up for easy monitoring.
